Following the ancient
Francis Way, together with many other pilgrims, who started
their long trip from England, France and Germany, I’ve been
particularly impressed by seeing a fortress on the borderline
of the Sienese Republic. Guarding the way between the Montagnola
Senese and the Chianti Classico hills, on the top of a hill,
the fortress is crooned with Hugh towers, and high up guard
the passage of the travellers. Even the Great Dante Alighieri
has been impressed; he mentioned this place in his masterpiece,
the Divina Commedia…
…Once I did won my frightened of the guards, passing the gate
of the never conquest walls, I came into a magnificent square.
Here I found a warm welcoming “Hostaria” were I had a wonderful
meal testing the best local specialities and drinking great
wines. Later I found a wonderful quiet and charmy night in one
of the rooms above the Hostaria. It was really easy to forgot
quickly all my hard trip of the last weeks with all the bad
experiences I had. This is a magic place!!
This rest gave my the power to re-continue my, still long way,
but now my spirit is renewed. I had to continue my way but I’m
going to leave a piece of my hart, safely guarded inside this
high walls where the live continues slowly and quite forgetting
the chaos outside.
The years are gone, but my passion for this place remain still.
Even today, I’m travelling with more comfort, but each time
I come into these walls, my heart discover again the beauty
and peace of live. This is always a great recover for my spirit
and body.
I could continue to talk you for hours but I surely prefer that
you come to meet me in this place, so that you will be able
to discover by your self this unique experience. See you soon!!
A presto!!
